Experience Atagawa’s Authentic Hot Springs

Atagawa Onsen is one of Japan’s most celebrated hot spring destinations, renowned for its abundant flow of mineral-rich natural waters.

According to local legend, over 500 years ago, the famous samurai and castle builder Ota Dokan discovered this hot spring after seeing an injured monkey bathing in the warm waters to heal its wounds.

At Yubana Mankai, guests can enjoy six private hot spring baths — three open-air baths and three indoor baths — allowing you to experience Japanese onsen culture in complete privacy with your partner, family, or friends.

All baths are supplied directly from the natural source. Fresh hot spring water continuously flows into each bath without recycling or reheating, a traditional style known as “100% natural free-flowing hot spring” (Gensen Kakenagashi).

Relax in the healing waters, listen to the sounds of nature, and discover a hot spring tradition that has been cherished for centuries.
